Joshua 1:9 9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be you whereever you go.
This verse right here is very powerful! God will be wherever you go, so don’t be afraid, be strong and courageous and let Him guide you.
The other day, my youngest son, Omarion told me a story of him going to his friends house and once he arrived he played an innocent joke, that joke can and was perceived to be disrespectful to his friend’s Dad. Once the Dad confronted Omarion, he took responsibility of the situation and his actions. However, a few moments later, conviction set in his heart and he knew he needed to go back to the Dad to make things right, he went back to the Dad and told him, “I’m sorry that I brought disrespectfulness into your home, that was not my intention and for that I’m very sorry.” The Dad was filled with gratitude because of Omarion’s actions of being mature and taking full responsibility of what he did. As he’s telling me this story I’m in awe about how courageous my son is. He listens to his heart, he hears the Holy Spirit talk to him and he courageously does it, he could have easily told God, “I already said Sorry, I’m not going back there and apologizing, again.” This is just an example as I’m a witness to a multitude of Omarion’s stories like this.
I sat back and thought - how many of us actually do what God tells us? Not a lot. I can say there are times that God will tell me to do something - but I’m blocked with selflessness, unforgiveness, pride, greed - that I don’t do it or there will be times where I’m literally having a conversation with Him, “You want me to do what? You know I don’t do that right? I’m not qualified for that, can you ask someone else?” But what I’m learning through my relationship with God is that when we don’t listen, we are blocking our own blessings, there are reasons why God guides us through certain doors - it all aligns with our purpose, so if we don’t listen, we don’t feel the full blessings of our purpose.
We are all vessels to God’s work and we need to Stop and Listen. Are you listening to what God’s telling you?
